BLACK DIRT

Foke-Luste-Hajo

Black Dirt, a Seminole chief in Florida and proponent of removal fled the Seminole country in 1835 following the murder of Charley Emathla at the hands of the anti-removal partisans of Osceola.

He removed to the west in 1836, losing his wife and daughter en-route and settled on the Little River 90 miles S.W. of Ft. Gibson.
